GARUDA is a family owned company, Initially founded in 2014 and manufactured in Auckland, New Zealand. The brand offered products for sale for the first time on the 18th of September 2015.
In early 2017 GARUDA and its directors moved operations to Panchkula, India.
Now GARUDA operates its own private workshop employing and up skilling local artisans, to maintain full control over the garment creation process, from concept, all the way to dispatch.
From the moment you're born you're wrapped in cloth. You wear something every single day of your life, and somewhere along the way that frequency makes you stop seeing it — garments become "clothes".
GARUDA starts from a different place. We treat garments as product — the way an architect thinks about a building you live in. How it's constructed, what it's made from, how it moves with you, how it holds up over time, how it fits into your life beyond just how it looks on a given day.
That shift in thinking changes everything about how we design.
GARUDA operates 3 lines:
Everyday
- Ready to wear every day garments for all walks of life, released after rigorous wear testing and updated like software.
Artisanal
- Made to order, no expense spared, entirely hand made iterations of our favourite items from the Everyday line.
Anuual Collection
- One cohesive, no holds barred collection per year that serves as a experimentation ground for the team to test ideas for the future of the brand and industry.
